Home remodeling – for most homeowners, those words can send chills down your spine. But, you can actually do a good amount of home remodel plans yourself – and save a pretty decent chunk of your money by performing those changes yourself.
How? Glad you asked!
Looking for a new look in your kitchen? Before you think of replacing those kitchen cabinets, try painting them a completely different color. You might just be amazed at how much you love them – all over again!
Do your own demo! You’d be amazed at how much you can save by taking down your old deck, removing your kitchen counter, and even taking out a section of a wall. If you aren’t comfortable with doing this, by all means, please do not hesitate to have a licensed contractor do it for you. But, if you are comfortable, you can save a lot by doing this yourself!
Repurpose old furniture into something new. Hit up a local thrift store, or even use an old piece of furniture in your home currently. For instance, turn an old cabinet into a new kitchen island. The sky is the limit with this one.
Don’t move the plumbing. You will save THOUSANDS by not moving your plumbing. Keep the kitchen sink and toilet where they are!
These are just a few of many many tips. In essence, if you are able to do some home renovation projects on your own, your bank account will thank you in the end!
